Flying High Inc.'s Leadership Zone Job Training Program is the result of the evolution of our programming.  Focusing on economic development, we've created a job readiness, job training, job placement program that builds leaders and provides economic opportunities primarily for youths 16 - 24 in the greater Youngstown area.
Combining the curriculum with years of experience in previous programming, the staff at Flying High is committed to providing this valuable service with the goal of leading the students to self sufficiency.

OUR MISSION

Founded in 1994, Flying HIGH, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, community service, community development organization creating a more ACTIVE, SMARTER, & HOPEFUL Young America by developing the potential of at-risk/disadvantaged young people through "Leadership Zones".
 

OUR VISION

Flying HIGH, Inc. believes that communities can be restored by providing economic opportunities to residents and mobilizing young people to be part of neighborhood revitaization efforts.

 

Job Readiness prepares the students in a class-room setting with exercises involving:

  • Career Aptitude
  • Soft Skills and Hidden Rules of the Workplace
  • Do's and Don'ts of Interviewing
  • Proper way to fill out Applications
  • Resume and Cover Letter Preparation
  • GED / OGT Tutoring

Job Training is the hands-on, real world experience that trains the students through:

  • Job Shadowing with Local Businesses and Organizations
  • Work Experience Opportunities
  • Connections to Specific Certification Trainings 

Job Placement is the final stage of our programming when the students work with our Job Developer to find a meaningful career in our community using their new skills.



Leadership Opportunities are presented to the students throughout their involvement with Flying High.  Civic Engagement is encouraged through volunteering, activism, and mentoring.

Employer Services  The purpose of Flying High, Inc.'s Leadership Zone is to create a more active, smarter, and hopeful young America by connecting young people to economic opportunities and in the process, provide businesses with motivated job-ready workers.  We have helped 25 businesses hire in excess of 200 workers through our employment services.

  • We require all participants to go through job readiness training prior to job placement.
  • We understand the needs of your business.
  • We provide support services to participants to help job retention.
  • We drug screen prior to job placement.
  • We pre-screen participants to ensure the right job match.

Businesses throughout the Mahoning Valley have benefited from their "no cost" partnership with the Leadership Zone.  The Leadership Zone has saved them time and money by hiring our motivated, job-ready participants.
