Civic Engagement is the volunteer efforts of our young people throughout the Mahoning Valley.   

 

Our youth work with neighborhood groups, organizations, and individuals to eliminate blight in the
 
community.  The goal is to enhance young people's leadership skills and build their potential in a

variety of ways:

• Build Confidence
  
• Enhance Problem Solving Skills
  
• Identify Other Ways to Address Community Issues Through Visits to Other Neighborhoods
  
• Expose Young People to and Provide Healthy Outlets for Stress
  
• Expose Young People to New Cultural Experiences
  
• Create "Buy-In" Into their Community's Future

Through these experiences, youth develop a broader world view which ultimately assists them with
 
personal goals that can be nurtured and grown into new ideas that move Youngstown toward

becoming a revitalized city.
