Services for Ex-Offenders

Flying HIGH, Inc. provided support services for ex-offenders returning to Mahoning and Trumbull Counties.  We believe all people deserve a second chance in life if they are willing to make positive changes.

Shaking HandOur program helped ex-offenders:

  • find employment
  • build social and workforce skills
  • access other community services
  • achieve family reunification

“All men need a second chance, even if they don’t deserve it.”

John

Prior to release, FHI leveraged resources to obtain Christmas gifts for John's grandchildren.  John made a commitment to change his life and promised to never sell drugs again.  We searched for employment for approximately 6 months, but to no avail.  John worked little odd jobs to keep busy and to stay out of trouble.  Neither John nor Flying HIGH gave up.  We were able to help John get, not one, but two jobs 6 months after his release.  He is currently working to save money to pay off fines and reinstatement fees for his license.  He has permanent housing and is planning to get married.  He has a very positive outlook on life now.

John-“I don’t know what I would do without Flying HIGH, Inc.”

Franklin

Once he returned home from prison, Franklin felt immediate pressure from his girlfriend to be a provider for the household.  He wanted to remove himself from FHI's active client list after two weeks.  However, Flying HIGH helped him obtain employment shortly after he threaten to leave to the program.  Franklin currently has two jobs and has adjusted very well to society after being incarcerated for more than ten years.  He has a very good outlook on life and has successfully obtain the Big 5: employment, housing, transportation, family reunification, and referrals to outside resources.  His children live with him, he has permanent housing, is employed, and is aware of community resources.

Franklin- “I’m glad I stuck it out with you guys, Flying HIGH, Inc did everything they said they would."
